Camping trip
Our church went camping this week about 45 minutes from our house on the shore of Lake Conroe. It is really pretty and the weather is mild for Texas. Mark and Matthew camped two nights, Lily camped with them one night. Laura, granny, Annie and I were mere daycampers (I was not about to nurse a baby lying on a blow up mattress). They had a blast to say the least. Good friends, open air, lots of food, camp fire sing songs, trees, scooters, a beach and boats.

Laura's Birthday Party
We had a little birthday party for Laura last night. Granny made a cake which Lily and I decorated. We decorated the table and lined up all her presents. At first she didn't realise it was all for her, but after she had opened a few presents it seemed to click - this was all about Laura. She was adorable with her excitment at opening all her gifts. She even got to talk to Gangy and Nana on the phone, they called from Tulsa just after we had finished present opening! Laura may be the 3rd child, but she is not over looked.

Random
Matthew and Laura have a great time together. He likes her fiesty personality and she can take his rough play well. Laura calls him 'Ma-mu'. Laura is talking much more now since mum has been here. She has also learned most of her colors and shapes, which was a goal of mine for her. Granny takes Laura off in the mornings to get ready for the day while I do school with Lily. Lily read her first 'reader' book this week in phonics. So perhaps I need to have another baby to lure granny here for a few months to help move the kids on in school!!

The trip
Lily and her daddy went to San Antonio for a night on Friday for fun. She was so excited all week and could talk about nothing else. Here she is getting ready to go. They stayed in a hotel on the Riverwalk and ate Mexican and took a boat ride down the river. On Saturday they did a number of tourist things and then came home. They had fun.
